Former professional fighter teaching kids to stand up to bullying

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A former professional fighter is teaching kids in the Toledo area how to stand up for themselves through martial arts.

Toledo News Now's Amanda St. Hilaire was able to talk to Brandon Copeland about his program ‘iStop the Bully'.

Copeland is expanding his program, writing a children's book, and doing a documentary to tell his own story of bullying. When Copeland was a child, he turned to gangs as a way to protect himself from bullies. He says he believes building confidence in children is the best way to not only standup to bullies, but to also help children avoid becoming a bully themselves.

We were able to find Copeland through a viewer that posted on our WTOL 11 Facebook event about bullying. People interested in Copeland's program can call him at 419-699-9470.
