Grand Rapids expects thousands for Apple Butter Festival

GRAND RAPIDS, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ever year, thousands of people go to Grand Rapids for the Apple Butter Festival.

The quiet town of about 1,000 people expects to see anywhere from 30-60 thousand people on Sunday.

Local business owners say the festival benefits them, as well. Karen Kingston owns Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, a local women's boutique, and she says even though the people come for the festival, it still gives local stores extra exposure.

"It's always great to have the overflow come into the shops," she said. "Even if they're not in a buying mood, they at least get to experience what we have here, and they do come back and see us at another time."

The festival is Sunday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. It will have live music, crafts, exhibits and historical reenactments.
