Perrysburg Twp. Fire opens doors to public

PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

There were no flashing lights or flames, but it was still a chance to get to know your local firefighters.

The Perrysburg Township Fire Department hosted its annual open house on Saturday.

The Department gave tours of the main station.

There were also displays and tips on how to avoid kitchen fires.

In addition, kids learned lessons in bike safety.

"It's an opportunity for us to give something to them, provide them a meal, have some things for the kids to do and at the same time educate them about fire safety," said Chief Tom Brice of the Perrysburg Township Fire Department.

The bike safety event  also helped kick off the revamped police department bike patrol.
