1 arrested in connection to Fulton County break-ins

FULTON COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

AToledo man is behind bars and officials are looking for several others as theyinvestigate a series of break-ins in Fulton County.

FultonCounty Sheriff Roy Miller says the break-ins have been happening in broaddaylight. The suspects knock on the door to see if anyone is home first.

"Ifnobody's home, then they go on in," he said.

Therehave been at least five break-ins recently in the county. Everything fromelectronics, to jewelry, to guns have been stolen.

Officialssay 35-year-old Roger McCown was caught red-handed with stolen property in hiscar, but they say he may not have been working alone.

"It'sstill a pending investigation, but I believe it will lead us to more people,"Miller said.

Thesheriff says being alert is the key to preventing future crimes like this.

"Ithink we really need to start looking out for each other," he said. "You shouldget to know your neighbor, what their patterns are. Talk to your neighbor, letthem know if you're not going to be home for a period of time."

Millersays they were able to arrest McCown after receiving a report of a suspiciouscar.

    A local daycare center is joining the revitalization in downtown Toledo. Children's Discovery Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the reopening of the Adams Street location on Tuesday. The center says downtown revitalization is what inspired the renovation which includes learning pods and an outdoor playground. At the forums, parents can learn what the school system is doing to provide a better and safer learning environment for students.
