Sylvania Northview students go pink for the Cure

Friday was Power of Pink Day, and Race for the Cure fundraisers were held across northwest Ohio. One of them was at Northview High School in Sylvania.

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) - Fridaywas Power of Pink Day, and Race for the Cure fundraisers were held acrossnorthwest Ohio. One of them was at Northview High School in Sylvania.

Studentsat Northview went pink from their heads to their fingernails to raise money forthe school's Race for the Cure team.

Studentsin the cosmetology department spent their lunch hour at nail stands, paintingtheir classmates' and teachers' nails for $1. All the money raised will bedonated.

"Thefundraiser committee decided we should do this because it's a great cause,"said Hayley Cowden-Hoot, a senior.

Thegroup hopes the event raised at least $100.
