TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Robert Easter Sr. fought for 5 years in the 1990's, accumulating a 9-3-2 professional record. His son, Robert Easter Jr., turned pro as a lightweight last year and has already racked up 7 wins without a loss or tie. Even more impressive, all of the Toledo native's wins have come by knock out.

"At the end of the day, you're fighting other grown men. And they're coming to knock you out just as you're coming to do your job," said Easter Jr.

Easter Sr. says his son's skills have already surpassed his, thanks to hard work and dedication.

"People with talent – they don't go as far, because they're strictly fighting off of talent. But when you're doing all the things, putting it together, that add up, you go a long way," said Easter Sr.

"The mistakes he made, he corrected me on them. He didn't want to see me make the same mistakes," said Easter Jr.

Easter Jr. was an alternate for the Olympics in 2012, traveling to London with the U.S. team.  His father has high expectations for his boxing career.

"He's going to be world champion. Real soon. He's going to be world champ," said Easter Sr.
