Lourdes University welcomes new president

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Lourdes University has a new president.

Today, in a special installment ceremony, Dr. David Livingston became the school's 9th president.

Dr. Livingston has spent the last 6 years as an administrator at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

He hopes to bring a new focus to the university to help keep Lourdes growing.

"An increased emphasis on traditional undergraduate residential population. Also an emphasis on students being exposed to international experience, multicultural experiences. We want our students to travel into the world," said Dr. Livingston.

Dr. Livingston also said he hopes to broaden internship programs for students to gain more practical work experience.
