Girl killed in accident identified as Bedford student

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A deadly accident in Bedford Township is under investigation.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, a female juvenile was struck by a car on Whiteford Center Road, just south of Smith Road, around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Family and friends have identified the victim as Kelsey Koepfler, a student at Bedford High School.

Deputies say 59-year-old Marceille Glover, of Toledo, was driving a minivan southbound when she struck the girl walking near the edge of the road.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Deputies say speed does not appear to be a factor in the accident.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Some students discussed wearing blue on Monday, in honor of Kelsey.

There were a number of posts on Facebook Sunday, offering condolences, and fond memories of Kelsey.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at (734) 240-7493.
