Unemployment numbers are up slightly in Ohio this week.

Locally, employers are doing whatever they can to lower the unemployment rate by using job fairs to help get people out of the unemployment line and back to work.

The Source held a job fair on Friday and the turnout was high.

800 people came through the door of the event, according to the Source.

Two dozen employers took part in the 2-hour event, on-site and looking to hire.

Employers included Tarta, Avon and the Home Depot.

In total there were about 100 jobs up for grabs.

People showed up with resumes in hand.

They were able to fill out applications, and even do quick interviews on-site.

Representatives from the Source say the turn out was more than 7 times bigger than last months'.

"It's a hopeful sign that people are starting to look again, there are open positions. People are getting excited about finding a job. I think it's a win-win on both sides," said Leigh Guerra of the Source.

If you missed out on Friday's job fair you will get another opportunity to attend in October.

The Source has them every third Friday of the month.

And they are always available to help you tweak your resume and get prepared for new job opportunities.
