Police: 14-year-old has been found after being gone since Sunday

The family of 14-year-old Melanie Perez is relieved.

The teen was located Friday evening. Police say she was found in the area of E. 105 and Superior Avenue and is being interviewed by officers.

Melanie's family was concerned because she has a serious medical condition that is that was more compromised with each passing day.  Melanie only has one kidney and is scheduled to take her kidney failure prevention medication every 8 hours. 

Her family says she hadn't had it since the afternoon of the day she went missing which was Sunday, September 15.

Melanie is an 8th grader at Gallagher Middle School.
