BELLEVUE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police say a multi-vehicle crash that left one woman dead and five others injured in Bellevue started when an officer tried to pull over a vehicle involved in the crash for driving recklessly.

Bellevue Police Chief Dennis Brandal says the Huron County Sheriff's Office reported a vehicle driving recklessly and swerving in and out of lanes Tuesday just after 11 p.m. An officer spotted the car driving westbound on Main Street, and clocked it going over the speed limit.

Brandal says before the officer could catch up to the vehicle to check the license plates, the officer saw the crash a half a block ahead of him.

In a media release sent by the Ohio Highway State Patrol, they say 24-year-old Morgan Jevec, of Massillon, rear-ended 36-year-old Tracy Albright, of Bellevue. Both cars caught on fire, as a result of the crash. Albright's car then traveled through the intersection hitting the car of 54-year-old Travis Roach, of Bellevue.

Albright was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jevec had three passengers in her car: 31-year-old Steven Gresser, 48-year-old Christopher Watters and 32-year-old Ricky Treherne Jr., all from Canton. Jevec and her three passengers were taken to the hospital by Life Flight with serious injuries.

Roach was treated and released at the scene.

All four people in Jevec's car were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. It is unknown if Albright was wearing her seatbelt.

Main Street was closed for approximately three hours. The crash remains under investigation.
