This stay of unusually warm October weather has a countdown to cool. Highs will stay in the 70s and even reach to just shy of record 80s on Saturday before it all comes to a close. The end of the warmth begins late Sunday evening as showers sweep across the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. This late weekend system will be just the start to a cooler pattern next week; that will bring our coolest temperatures of the season so far.

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Perrysburg Car Cruise helps local businesses and restaurants.

On Fridays in the summer, people from all over bring their cars to the Perrysburg Schools administration lot for the cruise. The idea started when one local business owner was looking into creative ways to increase business.

Rick Ruffner, owner of O-Deer Diner, talked to the superintendent of Perrysburg Schools, and started the car show on their property. Ruffner says the most important part of the show is that it helps the local economy.

"I used to have two employees there on a Friday night, now I have four," he said. "So I've increased my business that much. You talk to, like Casa Barron's downtown, or Fifth Street Pub, or Perrysburgers – I mean, it's a waiting line to get into those restaurants on Friday nights."

They also have a 50/50 raffle, which raises money for the after-prom committee at the school. They've already raised $1,900 for the committee.

The car cruise will continue on Friday nights until Oct. 11.
