Forbes names Toledo #9 best city for hiring this fall

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Forbes Magazine on Tuesday named Toledo ninth on its list of the best cities for jobs this fall.

The list is based on a survey conducted by ManpowerGroup, which Forbes says surveyed more than 18,000 employers nationwide to determine which cities will see job growth, and which will not, in the quarter ending Dec.31.

The Houston, TX area was named best in the country for job growth, while the worst city for hiring this fall will be St. Louis, MO, according to Forbes.

Toledo tied with Greensboro, NC, Orlando, FL, Tucson, AZ and Seattle, WA for the ninth spot on the "best" list.

Michael Veh, with Workforce Development Group in Toledo, feels the ranking is likely a combination of factors. Part of it has to do with the auto industry because hiring is on the rise. He also thinks we will see more growth in transportation locally, which is a big focus for some of the economic development groups.

Veh says "it's a great sign." He believes Toledo has so much potential, and it's in the hands of the people as to what comes next.
