MONCLOVA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) - Monclova Township residents have a new way of getting emergency alerts.
The new 'Monclova Alerts' is a branch of the Lucas County Alerts. The township recently subscribed to the new system so township officials can get messages out to residents in real time.
Alerts will inform residents of emergencies, as well as community events, changes to service deliveries, road closures and severe weather. Messages may be delivered via email, text or voicemail.
"Any type of emergency we need to keep people away, we can send that out," said Township Fire Chief Kevin Bernhard. "We can limit it to the area that needs to know, by block or whatever, rather than the entire township."
Residents can subscribe by visiting the township's website.
