HILLSBORO, OH (FOX19) -

A Hillsboro couple faces drug charges and child endangerment for allegedly trafficking drugs from their home in the presence of a child.

Hillsboro Police conducted a search warrant at a residence located in the 200 block of East North Street on Sunday afternoon. The warrant followed an investigation that spanned over the course of a few months.

During the investigation, police found that a couple had been trafficking drugs from the home. Police say that the two had a child present when the activity took place.

Roger Wood, 35, and Brandi Wood, 31, were arrested in the investigation. Both were found inside the residence with the child. Officers also found and seized over $1,200 in cash, a large amount of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse instruments, criminal tools, plastic bags containing a substance believed to be heroin and a small amount of marijuana.

Both are being charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of controlled substances and endangering a child. Brandi Wood also faces a charge of obstructing justice.

Highland County Children Services were contacted and the child is in the care of other family members.
