UMass-Amherst is giving the town of Amherst $80,000 to expand ambulance services for the fall and spring semesters.
The money will pay for the staffing of two ambulances mostly on the weekends.
The agreement increases the number of town ambulances in service from three to five and also increases staff on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
UMass first agreed to boost the amount it gives to the town last March when a massive party caused a number of emergency personnel to respond while off-duty.
