Gas leak in downtown Toledo caused by construction work says Columbia Gas

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The intersection of Washington Street and South St. Clair Street was closed in downtown Toledo due to a natural gas leak Thursday evening.

Chris Kozak from Columbia Gas says the gas leak was caused by contractors doing work on S. St. Clair.  Columbia Gas crews have repaired the leak and are in the process of making repairs to the street.

Both Washington and S. St. Clair were expected to open Friday afternoon. By Friday afternoon half of customers who lost service had been restored.
