Trial continued for double murder suspect

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo man accused of two fatal shootings appeared in court again Tuesday morning after refusing to take a plea deal in August.

Toledo Police say Traquawn Gibson shot and killed his ex-girlfriend Crejonnia "CJ" Bell in November 2012. Bell was rushed to the hospital after receiving four gunshot wounds to the head and chest, but later died of her injuries.

Gibson is also accused of fatally shooting Deonta Allen in October 2012. Allen was found shot in a car and pronounced dead at the scene.

A judge ruled that the cases are related to one another, and Gibson will face one trial for both murders.

In court Tuesday, Gibson had a different prosecutor take over the case. As a result, they missed sending some subpoenas and his trial has been continued to Sept. 23 at the prosecution's request.
