TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three months after 1-year-old Elaina Steinfurth went missing, her family is still waiting for the truth about what happened.

"It's definitely a life-changing experience, to say the least," said TJ Steinfurth, Elaina's father. "You never expect it to happen…and now three months, just, I figured something would have came up by now."

Steinfurth says the passing days have not made the loss easier. He misses his daughter more now than before.

"Just her being there every day, I mean, playing, running around the house," he said. "It's just tough."

The family says they are looking for closure now.

"You don't even try to do it, you just run every scenario through your head you could think of, of what may have happened, what could have happened," said Terry Steinfurth, Elaina's grandfather.

The Steinfurths say the hardest part is not knowing what happened or where Elaina is, but they believe there are two people with the answers.

Angela Steinfurth, Elaina's mother, and her ex-boyfriend Steven King are both in jail for obstruction of justice and are set to appear in court soon.

"Maybe just the thought of prison itself will scare one of them to get to tell something," TJ said. "Those are the only two people that know what happened, and until they talk, we're just stuck in limbo."

"They're the two that we know that were with her," Terry added. "So in my eyes, they're the ones that have to know something. I mean, they were the last ones to see her."
