EDITORIAL: Local county fairs celebrate rural life

(Toledo News Now) -

The local county fairs are all outstanding. There is something for everyone: animals, contests, exhibits, merchants, concerts, grandstand performances, people watching and great food!

Now, my wife grew up in Fulton County, so the Fulton County Fair has been part of our Labor Day Weekend tradition for several decades. The milkshakes made by the Fulton County dairy farmers are legendary.

This fair - and all of the others - are a celebration of rural life, which in so many ways, represents the heart and soul of northwest Ohio. So if you want to have a fun couple of hours, head over to the Fulton County Fair. See you there…I'll probably be in the milkshake line!

The recent decision of ProMedica's Board of Trustees to enter into a transfer agreement with Capital Care Network, Toledo's last remaining abortion facility, just doesn't make sense.
