Alcohol suspected in double fatal crash

EATON TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Elyria Highway Patrol Post is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Reed Road north of Brokaw Road Sunday around 8:15 p.m.

The OSHP says Timothy Keating, 47, of North Ridgeville, OH, was traveling in a 1965 Chrysler New Yorker northbound on Reed Road when he drove off the roadway and overturned his vehicle. Keating was ejected from the vehicle and his passenger, Paul Sonego, 55, of North Ridgeville, was partially ejected from the vehicle.

Although both men were wearing lap belts at the time of the crash, they were pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing, although officials believe alcohol is a contributing factor in the crash.
