Stranger danger incident reported Wednesday afternoon in Findlay

Findlay Police say a 12-year-old girl escaped after being grabbed by an unknown male Wednesday afternoon.

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - Findlay Police say a 12-year-old girl escaped after being grabbed by an unknown male Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the girl was walking near the intersection of South West Street and West Front Street in Findlay around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man driving a white cargo van pulled up behind her. Police say the girl felt someone grab her from behind, but was able to struggle free. The girl was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-thirties with tattoos on his fingers. The man was wearing a blue jacket at the time of the incident.

The suspect's vehicle is described as an older, white cargo van with no rear side windows. Residents in the area say they've seen a van matching this description in the area before.

"I'm terrified," said Nancy Hizer, who lives nearby. "I think this might have been the fourth incident."

Hizer says she keeps a close eye on her neighborhood, and her granddaughter.

"Either I'm with her at all times, or she doesn't go outside," Hizer said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Findlay Police at 419-424-7150.
