Restaurant Ratings Report: Inspectors pleased with many Toledo eateries

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Some area restaurants are rounding out the summer season on a high note, while others are still trying to make good on months-old violations.

Beer Dock's violations are nothing new. Of the north Toledo restaurant's six violations, half of them were repeats, including damaged floor tiles, no paper towels in the bathroom and its front door propped open, which can lead to a pest infestation. Additionally, inspectors noted bottled beverages being stored in a dirty, damp basement and bags of potatoes stored on the floor.

Gnats are buzzing at Zia's on Main Street in east Toledo. Inspectors tallied four violations total, including a bad smell coming from the garbage area, standing water in the kitchen and the flying insects.

On to the good news.

Whatever your order may be, Pizza Hut on Secor Road in west Toledo is happy to serve you, especially after its grade ‘A' rating from inspectors.

Comfort food to the rescue! Serving croissants, soups and sandwiches, Panera Bread on Talmadge Road is without worry when it comes to the Lucas County Health Department. The west Toledo eatery has no violations to report.

Its neighbor is also in good standing with a picture perfect inspection. Potbelly Sandwich Shop customers can't complain when it comes to violations.

Come one, come all. Josephine's Kitchen on Lagrange Street in north Toledo is serving up zero violations. Inspectors summed up the visit by saying it's clean and well-maintained.
