Vertical construction begins soon at Overland Industrial Park

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority is paving the way for more vertical construction in the Overland Industrial Park, the former Jeep Parkway site.

On Thursday, the port board approved a lease agreement with developer Ed Harmon to construct a spec warehouse building, which is expected to attract another employer to the site. It's a $5.3 million project to build a 100,000-square-foot building, which will have enough flexibility to attract a wide range of potential end users.

With Air Gas Inc. already committed to relocating to the site, Matt Sapara says the industrial park now has credibility and they're expecting more deals to be reached in the near future.

"Now folks have come out and seen what the roads are going to look like, where the roundabouts are going to be, the infrastructure in the ground now," Sapara said. "Now, it's something to see. We've seen an uptick in the calls we get from people interested in being on this site."

Vertical construction for both the spec building and the Air Gas facility is expected to start in October.
