FOSTORIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The newest member of the Fostoria Police force made his debut Wednesday.

Even without a gun, the new recruit is pretty intimidating.

Marley is the newest officer of Fostoria's K9 division. The 18-month-old German Malinois is hitting the road with Officer Donald Dennis after six weeks of intensive training.

Marley is one of two K9s on the force, and he will be used for everything from sniffing out drugs to making arrests. But Officer Dennis says Marley has a soft side at home.

"He's a young dog, so he's very rambunctious," Dennis said. "He's got a lot of energy, just like my children, so it's like having another kid."

Marley is replacing Dennis' previous dog, who died of cancer. He is now fully certified in the State of Ohio and on the job.
