Perrysburg looking into riverfront path idea

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Perrysburg City Council voted Tuesday to explore the possibility of creating a path along the city's riverfront. The path is part of a larger riverfront project proposal unveiled last month.

The path would connect Orleans, Riverside and Hood Parks and run along the Maumee River. Council agreed to explore the idea of creating the multi-use path on Tuesday, but did not green light the project. Council members say the project is still in the planning phase.

The plan got mixed reactions from residents on Tuesday. Some say it's a great idea, but others have their doubts.

"Truthfully I've seen the actual plan from the 150 page plan that was proposed they are talking about a 121 foot wide path and it's not a path; it's a road," said Perrysburg resident Deborah Born.

Council has not made any final decisions on the riverfront project. Discussion will continue at future meetings.
