TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

You may need to bring a fly swatter the next time you dine out because they're beginning to take over at some of your favorite food joints in west Toledo.

Flies and gnats are circling The Original Gino's Pizza. Its two locations on Monroe Street collected more than 20 violations during inspections July 30 and Aug. 6. Inspectors found dusty ceiling vents and tiles in need of a wipe down. They also noted a food scale ready to be repaired, held together by duct tape. A hot water handle is broken, plus ice and frost are building up on food in the freezer.

Sidelines Wings and Things on Mellwood Avenue racked up 17 violations from its Aug. 5 inspection. Inspectors discovered expired food, as well as food being held above a safe temperature, not to mention dirty silverware, a sink with no towels and floors covered in build-up and debris.

Molly's Diner on Laskey Road isn't fairing so well. Inspectors found 14 violations, including a leaking roof, uncovered food in a cooler, along with expired food. A strong odor was coming from a grease trap, plus soup, potatoes and sausage were all found cooling improperly at room temperature, which can lead to bacteria issues.

Three violations were found at Bakery Unlimited on Secor Road. Desserts are being held at an unsafe temperature, flooding issues need to be repaired, and flies in a display case are contaminating the food.

Marco's Pizza, on the other hand, is serving nothing but a clean report. The location on Laskey Road received a visit by the Lucas County Health Department Aug. 1 and is reported in great condition.

After double overtime, the Toledo Walleye came out on top and beat the Indy 3-2 Thursday night for a sweep in the series. Even though the fish had a 3-0 lead in the first round playoff series, the toughest thing to do in hockey is to beat a desperate team on their home ice.  Halfway through a second overtime Kyle Bonis sets up Christian Hillbrich to score the game winning goal.  The Walleye now advances to the second round.
