BGSU renovations almost ready for school year

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Nearly$15 million worth of construction projects are wrapping up at Bowling GreenState University, but will they be done in time for the new school year?

Hundredsof students will move to campus next week. Many of those will call thenewly-renovated McDonald Hall their new home. Construction crews are puttingthe finishing touches on the $10.5 million project.

Studentswill enjoy new common areas and kitchens. All furniture is brand new and easierto move around, so students can customize their rooms. But there's more forstudents to be excited about, as well.

"I'mjust really excited because…I'll be in new air conditioning, so I won't have tocrank my AC on, like, a thousand degrees," said incoming freshman FrancesKeller.

Newstudents say the renovations and new buildings make the school more attractive.

"Mymom and I were just walking by, and we noticed the new dorm building," saidMackenzie Cotsmire. "We noticed all the new updates and stuff and it's actuallyreally nice."

Acrosscampus, the new Falcon Health Center is getting ready for an open house. Itcost $5 million to build, and will be operated by the Wood County Hospital. Itincludes a drive-through pharmacy.

"Itmakes me feel that I can only travel such a short distance to get there and getsituated with my medicines," said Cotsmire.

Studentssay they're looking forward to making memories in the new buildings.
