Walbridge, OH (Toledo News Now) -

More local law enforcement agencies are using the power of social media to catch criminals. One northwest Ohio agency says Facebook is the reason a dangerous man is off the streets.

Clint Hill is accused of kidnapping and brutally beating the pregnant mother of his child in front of her other children, but that's not all.

"He's accused of forcing himself into the residence and then beating our victim. Then he forced her and the children into a vehicle and he forced her to drive them to Toledo, where they drove around the city. And [he] continued to beat her and he fled the scene," said Jeffrey Goetz Jr., investigator for Walbridge police.

After months on the run, Hill is finally off the streets thanks to a post on the Walbridge Police Department Facebook page, which was shared hundreds of times. Officers believe social media played a big role in getting him behind bars.

Hill was captured by Elyria police after neighboring departments got a tip about where Hill was hiding. Then police tracked him down using Facebook.

"Just goes to show, if you commit a crime in Walbridge, we're gonna put you out there and everybody's gonna see it and someone's gonna rat you out," said Goetz.

Hill is the first major arrest from their most wanted posts, but police say he won't be the last.
