Sylvania Historical Village needs volunteers for student programs

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Sylvania Historical Village needs help in order to continue their services.

They need volunteers in order to continue offering unique programs to local students.

Volunteers help bring the past to life for students who visit throughout the school year. From cleaning the five historical buildings to setting up for special occasions, volunteers keep the village operating. They lead hands-on activities and programs for students that visit during field trips.

Director Joyce Armstrong says volunteers will help expand educational programs and serve the public.

"We cannot exist without volunteers," Armstrong said. "Each of my school programs that we do two days a week takes approximately nine volunteers, and they are here about 4-5 hours each. [Without them,] the children of today would be missing so much."
