WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

A woman is in critical condition after an accident Thursday evening in Westwood.

Police say Rosemarie Shannon, 37, was headed westbound on Westwood Northern Boulevard in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Shannon reportedly lost control of the vehicle, overcorrected, flipped the Jeep and hit a utility pole.

It happened around 8 p.m. near the intersection of Millrich Avenue.

Police say Shannon was trapped inside the Jeep and had to be extricated by the Cincinnati Fire Department.

She was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. Police say Shannon was wearing her seatbelt.

Speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.

The Cincinnati Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing an investigation and any witnesses to the crash are asked to call (513) 352-2514.
