There are six vitamins that, some doctors say, women can't live without. Dr. Asa stopped by the FOX19 Morning News with details on the benefits these vitamins provide.

1. Calcium

  • Includes: Dairy foods, dark leafy green vegetables, oranges, or supplements
  • Benefits: Helps avoid osteoporosis

2. Vitamin D

  • Includes: Sunlight, nuts, fish, eggs, beef, mushrooms, supplements Use D3 version
  • Benefits: Must have to absorb calcium, increased immune system

3. Iron

  • Includes: Red meat, dark leafy greens, beans, eggs
  • Benefits: Use vitamin C to help absorb iron like oranges 

4. Folic Acid (a potent B vitamin)

  • Includes: Oranges, green vegetables, beans, peas
  • Benefits: Supports Healthy Brain Chemistry

5. Beta Carotene

  • Includes: Carrots, apricots, papaya, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, mangoes
  • Benefits: Antioxidants, reducing aging skin and cell protection

6. Omega 3 Fats

    Sylvania police are searching for a man who has been missing since Wednesday. Police say 82-year-old Charles Fackelman was last seen at the VFW Post 2898 on west Alexis Road in Toledo around 8 p.m. Fackelman is described as a white male standing at five feet five inches and weighing 158 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes.
