BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Bowling Green Police say a man broke into a Bowling Green apartment and trashed the place. The Lucas County Sheriff's Office found and arrested Lance Pfaff late Tuesday night.

Pfaff, 46, of Holland, Ohio, has been charged with burglary and vandalism after police say he broke into an apartment on North Enterprise Street and caused more than $11,000 in damage.

"[He] spray painted every wall in the apartment, every appliance in the apartment," said Detective Brian Crites. "[He] spray painted the toilets, [he] spray painted the carpet. [He] cut up a lot of her furniture, turned all the faucets on and left them running."

The person who lived in the apartment was out of town at the time of the break-in. After contacting her, police say they learned she had been the victim of stalking.

"It sounds like they were friends, and she's saying he thought that there was more of a relationship than there was," Crites said.

Other students moving back for school, who also live at this off-campus apartment complex, say they are shocked by what happened - not just that someone broke in, but that so much damage was done in a short period of time.

"This is a pretty nice neighborhood," said Jeremy Reder. "I don't see why anybody would really want to go in there and just do all this damage and whatnot."
