(Toledo News Now) - Over the next few weeks, the kids go back to school. The simple message for the rest of us: Be alert.
Small children do unpredictable things, especially when they are excited or distracted. Many of them will be attending new schools for the first time. So there also is an element of uncertainty and unfamiliarity as the kids acclimate to new surroundings.
If you are driving during school mornings and afternoons, slow down! Expect the unexpected. A small bit of caution could make a huge difference. If it takes you a couple more minutes to get where you are going - big deal, it's worth it!
