UPDATE: police arrest suspect in Boone Co. home invasion robbery

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

Police are searching for two suspects accused of a home invasion robbery on Monday in Florence, Kentucky.

A married couple were the victims of a home invasion on the 7,000 block of Centercrest Lane in the Oakbrook Subdivision near Florence, Kentucky on Monday, August 05, 2013.

Authorities say William Baise, 66 and his wife, Wanda, 62 were home when two African American men pushed their way into the residence after William answered the door to a known acquaintance.

The two black men, who brandished a handgun, pushed the acquaintance aside and ordered William to retrieve cash from a known location.  Once they got the money they taped up the couple and left the scene.

The men are described as being in their mid 20's, both wearing jeans, and dark shirts.  One of them had white spots on the shirt resembling paint or drywall mud.  One of them was carrying a silver coffee mug.

Detectives obtained a warrant for and arrested the aforementioned acquaintance, Thomas Powell III, 42 of Erlanger, Kentucky for his participation in the robbery.

Investigators say Powell led the other two to the condo knowing the victims would open the door for him.  Powell is charged with Robbery 1st degree and two counts of Kidnapping, all Class B felonies punishable by 10-20 years in the state penitentiary.

Investigators are still actively pursuing leads to identify the two African-American men.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the two is asked to call either the Boone County Sheriff's Office at (859) 334-2175 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
