Project Dignity provides school uniforms for students in need

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A local church is helping Toledo Public Schools students get ready for school with Project Dignity.

Every student wants to have nice clothes on the first day of school, but for those who can't afford it, Project Dignity will help them out by giving away school uniforms.

Project Dignity is run by Pilgrim Church in Toledo.

They are giving out uniforms on a first come, first serve basis. There will also be school supplies for children.

Last year, Project Dignity gave over 600 uniforms to families who couldn't afford them.

"We feel compelled to serve and to offer clothing to people in need," said Jill Roman, a coordinator.

The giveaway will be Saturday, August 10 at Pilgrim Church from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event is free and will also include food and games for the kids.
