TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A living history reenactment group will set up camp in Toledo on Sunday, to give the public a taste of what life was like in the region in the mid-1700s.

The Saginaw Voyageurs will be setting up camp on the grounds of the National Museum of the Great Lakes at 1701 Front St. in east Toledo.

The group should arrive sometime between 3 and 5pm, by canoe, and will be cooking over an open fire and telling stories about 18th century life.

Every year the group travels around the Great Lakes setting up educational camps along the way.

On Monday the group will be paddling their canoe to Locust Point in Oak Harbor followed by the islands and into Canada. They end their trip where they started, at Sterling State Park.

The group will be dressed in period costume and will use tools and items from the era to construct four tents. They will cook meals in copper kettles over open fires.
