SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) - A weekly event to attract people to downtown Sylvania is working, according to sponsors.
City officials and organizations have really been pushing to sell downtown Sylvania as a destination location, and a new signature event is doing just that. Every Tuesday since June 4, 'Market on Main' takes place.
On Tuesdays, businesses on Main Street stay open a little longer and have specials. The market offers a variety of options from 15 local vendors, including jewelry, candles and produce.
"What can't be good about it? I mean, to have people rediscover your downtown area," said Jacquie Olender, with the Downtown Sylvania Association. "We have a lot of very loyal people that have started with us and are still here, but we're growing every single week."
There's still plenty of time to visit the Market on Main. It runs each Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. until October.
