Napoleon Schools ask for levy again

NAPOLEON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Residentsin the Napoleon community will see a school levy issue on the ballot thisNovember.

TheNapoleon school board voted to put a 2.9 mil property tax on the ballot afterthree previous attempts have been turned down. School leaders are optimisticabout this one, saying they're asking for less money this time around, thanksto an increase in state funding.

Ifthe levy is approved, it would raise about $880,000 for the district and helppay for operating costs.

"We'regoing to have to have the operating money to continue to operate the programsthat have been highly successful in the district," explained Superintendent Dr.Stephen Fogo.

Thedistrict is working on putting a table together to show residents how much thelevy will cost them based on the value of their home. They're also working onfiguring out what cuts will have to be made if the levy is not approved.
