Toledo Humane Society discount on cats until Sunday

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Leadersat the Toledo Area Humane Society say there's been an increase in the number ofcats and kittens that need to be adopted.

Inan effort to find them homes, the Humane Society is reducing adoptioncosts to just $20 for cats and kittens. They come spayed or neutered, up todate on shots, and micro-chipped.

Rightnow, there are about 30 cats and 50 kittens in the shelter and more than 200 infoster care. Leaders say they're working hard to make sure the animals end upin the right place.

"Justbecause we reduce our adoption fees, our adoption criteria does not change,"said Cyndi Condit, marketing manager for the Humane Society. "We're alwayslooking for loving homes where they're going to be well-cared for and get thevet care they need."

Thespecial rate promotion runs until Sunday. There's also an extra discount forblack cats or kittens. They can be brought home for just $5.
