TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo police say a violent and dangerous man turned himself in Tuesday morning, after being wanted for allegedly opening fire on a family member.

Police say it was a family feud gone wrong. Jerome Carter, 26, was wanted for felonious assault for turning a gun on his brother. In addition, he had eight misdemeanor warrants our for his arrest.

According to police, back in February near Detroit and Islington, Carter opened fire on his brother as he was walking to his car to avoid confrontation. The bullets missed his brother, but tore through the car.

Police want to remind the public that Carter is very dangerous and should not be approached.

"That's what they pay us to do, is to handle dangerous people like this. Again, if he shot at his brother, he'd shoot at anybody. Be careful of this man," said Sgt. Joe Heffernan with the Toledo Police Department.
