Shooting in ETX neighborhood, victim being airlifted to hospital

MABANK, TX (KLTV) -

A man has been shot Wednesday afternoon in an East Texas neighborhood.

Sheriff Ray Nutt says the shooting occurred at around 3:25 p.m. in the Cherokee Shores area of Henderson County, near Mabank.

The victim is an unidentified white male. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Athens.

The suspect in the shooting has been detained; no information about the suspect has been released at this time.
