Bowling Green Country Club hurting from rainy weather

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Monday was the second time in less than one week that the Bowling Green Country Club closed because of the rain, and water filed fields.

Massive puddles have covered almost every inch of the nine hole course. The water is even spilling over into the backyards of neighbors.

Every drip of water equals big problems for the business. The course was shut down all day Saturday because of rain. They lost $500 Monday when one league couldn't play, and at least $2,000 so far this week.

"Well of course no one can play the course when it's in this condition, so we lose the revenue and once it's lost you can't make it up," said golf professional Tom Garcia.

The course doesn't have a drainage system, and it could up to two days for the water to soak into the ground.
