PRESCOTT, AZ (CBS5) -

Country musicians put on a show to remember Monday night to honor the fallen Prescott 19 and raise money for their families.

While the Country Cares concert seemed like every other country show, no one had forgotten why four popular musical acts descended upon Prescott for an impromptu event.

"To hear news of that tragedy is horrible and it just devastated us as a family," said Kerry Kriesel from Flagstaff.

"I'm looking forward to seeing all the stuff they have to tribute the firefighters," Trevor Kriesel said.

"It's just something close to my heart as far as helping firefighters and their families," said Troy Spong from Phoenix.

Families and a community are still in mourning after 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives battling the Yarnell Hill Fire on June 30.

"It's a good cause to come back to the city and help everybody out back here after the horrible disaster that happened," said Jon Heflin from Phoenix.

After the 6,000 tickets sold out in minutes, people came from all over the state to see The Band Perry, David Nail, Randy Houser and Dierks Bentley perform and pay tribute.

More than $442,000 was raised and all of the proceeds go will go to the United Phoenix Firefighters Charities.

"I'm hoping they get not only to see the community come together, band together for these guys, but to do something for the fallen's widows, to do something for the 51 children that were left without fathers," said Rich Bauer from United Phoenix Firefighters.

While the organization had $700,000 to donate prior to the concert, that money has to go a long way.

"We're hoping to do very well tonight but we still have to divide that by 19," Bauer said.
