Troopers stopped a rented 2013 Chevrolet Traverse with Montana registration, for a speed violation on Interstate 80 near milepost 72 in Wood County at 7:56 p.m. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle.

A probable cause search revealed 27 vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana, weighing 33 pounds.

The driver, Joseph Darrah, 30, of Felton, PA, was incarcerated in the Wood County Jail. He has been charged with possession and trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies.

If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
