Ky. Lt. Gov. encourages young students to seek higher education

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

Kentucky's Lieutenant Governor visited Florence on Thursday to encourage young students to seek higher education.

Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson met with middle school students participating in a career camp at Gateway Community & Technical College.

Ten students from Grant County Middle School took part in the program this week, learning about high-paying and high-demand careers in energy technologies.

"We want young people to understand in middle school that the community college is there for you, and there are career opportunities for you," said Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson. "You've got to go on beyond high school. You cannot stop at a high school diploma."

More than 30 students will attend Career Craze Camps at Gateway Community & Technical College this summer.
