Girl, 4, found dead had been under DCS care

CLARKSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A 4-year-old girl who was killed Friday in Montgomery County was once removed from her home for abuse.

The child was previously under the custody of the Department of Children's Services, according to a report in the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle.  The girl was found dead at a home on Dotsonville Road.

The child was in DCS custody for three years, but returned to her parents within the last six months.

The report says the girl had a prior head injury caused by a relative.

The Leaf Chronicle cites sources saying the same relative may have been responsible for her death.
