Shots fired into bar crowd injures 2 in south Toledo

Two people are injured after shots were fired into a large crowd outside a south Toledo bar overnight.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Two people are injured, one in critical condition, after shots were fired into a large crowd outside a south Toledo bar overnight.

Toledo police say shots rang out around 2 a.m. Monday after a fight broke out inside the Rocket Bar, spilling out into the parking lot.

Police say up to five shots were fired into the large crowd, hitting two males. They were both taken to the hospital - one with a gunshot wound to the leg, the other with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Both are expected to make a full recovery.

Witnesses said the scene was total chaos.

"Somebody tried to leave at one point, and there was a puddle of blood out front. And, I don't know. I didn't hear any gunshots or anything. It didn't seem like much was going on until people started flooding in, trying to avoid the situation outside, and they weren't letting too many people in," said Jamie Cooper.

Investigators say there is a chance there could have been more than one shooter. Detectives are following up on leads and skimming through surveillance video from a nearby business.

Anyone with more information about the shooting is urged to call police at CrimeStoppers, 419-255-1111.
