EDITORIAL: Helping keep you safe during severe weather

(Toledo News Now) -

In the past couple of weeks we have experienced some pretty intense weather.  It seems like the only thing interrupting the relentless rain has been severe winds and fierce lightning.

We have lost a lot of beautiful trees and there has been damage to homes and property, and the rivers are bulging.  All of this should serve to remind us how fragile we really are.

Severe weather can be terrifying and life threatening.  We need to remember that when the decision is made to interrupt normal programming.  We do so because it is our legal and moral obligation to do everything possible to keep you safe.

Recent storms also point out the value of modern forecasting computers in the hands of qualified meteorologists.  The Certified Most Accurate weather team at Toledo News Now is unmatched in accuracy and dedication.  Know that when severe weather threatens, they will be here for you.

Although we cannot stop the storms, we can help keep you safe.
