This stay of unusually warm October weather has a countdown to cool. Highs will stay in the 70s and even reach to just shy of record 80s on Saturday before it all comes to a close. The end of the warmth begins late Sunday evening as showers sweep across the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. This late weekend system will be just the start to a cooler pattern next week; that will bring our coolest temperatures of the season so far.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Toledo Police say a heavily decomposed body was found in a burnt-up Toledo garage Wednesday.

The body was found in the 2700 block of Buckeye Street in north Toledo. It was discovered just after 4 p.m. Wednesday by a person who used to live in the abandoned home. The body was found under a blanket.

"Who knows what happened at this point," said TPD Sgt. Joe Heffernan. "Was this a case of a homeless person trying to find some shelter and cover up, hypothermia set in, or was there more of a criminal element?"

Police say the body does not closely match a description of anyone on the missing person's list.

Lucas County Deputy Coroner Dr. Maneesha Pandey says an autopsy was unable to determine the identity, sex or race of the body. Dr. Pandey says the remains are mostly skeletal with just a few bits of tissue attached.

A forensic anthropologist will be brought in to determine the sex and race of the body, and whether or not it suffered any trauma that could have led to death.

Pandey says her office is still working to determine when the person died.

The coroner's office and Toledo Police are treating the death as suspicious until more information is known.

Anyone who may know the identity of the person is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 419-255-1111.
